This completed Lakewood Ranch project transformed an arched interior niche into a handcrafted decorative focal point. The Venetian plaster finish combines a soft white background, layered gray and warm taupe movement, and fine metallic gold veining.

The decorative finish was developed directly within the existing arched niche. Its proportions and curved top naturally frame the composition, allowing the plaster surface to read like a custom piece of architectural artwork.

The marble-inspired pattern includes:

• Soft white and warm neutral layers
• Gray and taupe veining
• Subtle surface movement
• Hand-applied metallic gold details
• A lightly reflective finished appearance

The surface was prepared before the decorative layers were applied by hand. The composition was gradually developed through variations in color, texture, and directional movement.

Fine veining creates the appearance of natural mineral patterns, while selective gold accents reflect light and highlight specific areas without overwhelming the design.

The light palette coordinates with the surrounding walls, cabinetry, flooring, and architectural trim. Gray and warm taupe movement introduces contrast, while the metallic detailing gives the niche a more distinctive identity.

Because the finish follows the existing arch, it feels integrated into the architecture rather than added as a separate decorative panel.
